We as members of the Jet Chapter K of M express our caring and
giving attitude by working with other community groups and organizations, by supporting community projects and functions and
by conducting and/or assisting in community fund raising.
Described below is ..How to become a member ..What's
expected of a member
All members must be at least 21 years of age. Prospective members are encouraged to attend
K of M events and functions, meet members of the Jet Chapter and show a genuine interest in the organization. Applicants are
required to have 2 sponsors who are currently active members. A $25.00 initiation fee must be submitted with the application.
The prospective member's application is reviewed by the membership committee prior to the next general meeting. At the next
regularly scheduled meeting the application is presented to the membership with a recommendation. A second reading is done
at the following months regular membership meeting for approval or disapproval by the membership. If approved, each new member
is placed on a three month probationary period. After which, a final approval or disapproval is made by the general membership.
All applications are confidential and only the chapter secretary has access to them. Member's names are kept confidential
if desired. The dues currently paid by members is $5.00 per month paid quarterly.
The Jet Chapter - K of M hosts
a variety of events. Each member is required to pay for each event as well as perform duties during the event. A small portion
of the monies raised goes for club operations, while the majority is donated to local charities. These funds are deposited
in a charity fund and are given out at the end of the fiscal year. This allows us to consolidate funds and give larger amounts
to needy causes. Some of the events held by the Jet Chapter are.... -Beggars Feast -La Femme Grotesque contest -Movie and
Auction night -Rendezvous (anniversary campout) -Sir Guy contest -Mr Wrangler contest -La Turkeyotta -Karibbean Nights
